Information regarding Covid-19

As a department of Umeå University, Umeå School of Architecture is following the developments of COVID-19 and requests that all students, staff and visitors follow the recommendations provided by the Public Health Agency of Sweden and the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

As a result of the recommendation made by the Swedish Government's on 17 March 2020 to cancel all university education that involves physical meetings in university premises in order to prevent the spread of disease, the Vice-Chancellor of Umeå University has made a decision.

Umeå School of Architecture's building is due to this decision closed for students and the public from 18 March 2020 until 7 June 2020 (end of the spring semester). Due to the rapid development, revisions to this decision can be made at a later date.

Education provided will carry on through distance platforms. All previously announced public events are cancelled or adepted to be held internally through distance platforms.

All students and staff at Umeå School of Architecture are also recieving a general newsletter from the department every Tuesday and Friday throughout this period. 

Important decisions made at Umeå School of Architecture due to Covid-19:
- The planned Summer Course "Architecture, Exploration and Reflection" has been adapted to a online distance format and is open for applications until April 16th. 

- The alternative selection, Arkitektprovet, has been cancelled. The admission to the Architecture Programme for the fall semester 2020 has thereby been changed. 66 % will be admitted on grades, and 34 % on results from Högskoleprovet (the national university aptitude test).
